Last week, a number of Google Pixel 6 users reported that their phones were making phantom calls to various people on their address book. Today, Google revealed that they have already fixed the problem for the flaw.
As reported by Android Police, Google has released a patch to fix the flaw that randomly auto-dialed numbers on the Pixel 6. And as confirmed, the issue seems to be caused by a flaw on the device’s Google Assistant hotword detection.
While Google worked on the issue, affected users were able to temporarily fix the problem by clearing the cache and settings of their Google app. With today’s announcement though, it looks like things are looking up for Pixel 6 users.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the only issue that plagued Pixel 6 users. Apart from the phantom calls, there have been complaints about a fingerprint scanner issue and a flickering display. There have also been some users who complained that the Magic Eraser tool has been removed. Apparently, this feature was removed after an update to Google Photos was released.
If your device is running Android 12 5.67 version, you’ll be among those who no longer have the Magic Eraser tool on your phone. The good news is, Google says that it is already working on a fix for this problem.
A spokesperson for the company shared that they were able to identify “an issue early in the rollout of [its] latest Photos update and are providing a fix shortly.” The spokesperson also revealed that not everyone is experiencing the glitch. As of this writing though, Google has pulled the plug on the recent update so that it can stop affecting other users.
