Samsung Galaxy users can look forward to receiving the stable Android 16 update this summer, as confirmed by Google during The Android Show, a prelude to the upcoming Google I/O event. The rollout will commence with Pixel devices in June, followed by Samsung and other brands in the subsequent months.
A leaked build of Samsung's One UI 8, based on Android 16, has already surfaced, indicating that the beta program may begin as early as the end of May. However, the beta is expected to be limited to select Galaxy devices, with a shorter testing period compared to previous releases.
Samsung's latest flagships, including the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Flip 6, are anticipated to be among the first to receive the update. Additionally, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, expected to launch this summer, will likely debut with One UI 8 and Android 16 pre-installed .
While One UI 8 may not introduce a plethora of new features, users can expect enhancements in design and performance. The integration of Google's Material 3 Expressive design language is anticipated later in the year, bringing a more fluid and personalized user experience.
Samsung aims to improve upon the rollout experience of One UI 7, which faced delays and limited device support. With a more streamlined approach, Galaxy users can anticipate a smoother transition to Android 16 in the coming months .
