A new policy at T-Mobile will automatically move a small percentage of customers still on older plans into the Go5G Plus plan beginning August 13—with no change in price, according to The Mobile Report. This primarily affects people on legacy plans like Magenta Max or older T-Mobile One versions.
The publication explains roughly 1% of customers are impacted, though T-Mobile says affected users should get notices and may even be allowed to opt out if they prefer to stay on their current plan.
T-Mobile promises that monthly charges, perks like free lines, streaming services, and Hotspot allowances will stay intact. However, some customers on forums warn that moving into a new plan could cancel older "price lock" protections, potentially making future hikes more likely.
