It looks like there is a hiccup with some Samsung devices on Cricket Wireless.
According to reports from dealers, there are some Samsung phones that are no longer working and can’t even be activated on Cricket’s network.
The devices that are affected by this are VoLTE capable phones. This makes dealers wonder that it could be because of a shutdown issue even though it should not be the case. These VoLTE devices are considered part of the older network/phones that will be affected by the shutdown once it takes effect.
The devices include the following:
Samsung Galaxy S8
Samsung Galaxy S9
Samsung Galaxy Note 8
Samsung Galaxy Note 9
Samsung Galaxy Note 10
It’s important to note that Cricket scheduled its network shutdown for February 2022. So these affected devices still have a year before they cannot be used on Cricket’s network. The error message on the issue says that the IMEI is not compatible with Cricket’s network.
We will update this post once we hear back from Cricket.
