T-Mobile held its first Un-carrier event in over two years, and new CEO Srini Gopalan came out swinging. At the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, the company unveiled "Switching Made Easy," a complete overhaul of how customers can leave AT&T or Verizon and join the magenta side.
According to T-Mobile's official announcement, the whole process now takes about 15 minutes through the T-Life app, starting December 1. The star of the show is Easy Switch, a new AI-powered tool currently in beta. It lets you log into your existing carrier account and automatically recommends the best T-Mobile plan based on your current setup, number of lines, and devices.
But here's what T-Mobile customers will really appreciate: you no longer have to pick a new phone the moment you switch. The carrier is giving new customers a 90-day window to choose a device when they're ready. And for those who want their phone now, T-Mobile is partnering with DoorDash Drive to offer same-day delivery in select cities. Current customers can use this too.
There's more good news for existing subscribers. T-Mobile is reopening free DashPass enrollment (worth up to $120 per year) from November 25 through December 2. During that same week, DashPass members also get a free pie with any grocery order of $12 or more, just in time for Thanksgiving.
The T-Life app already has over 90 million installs and 23 million monthly active users, so this is T-Mobile doubling down on making the app the center of the customer experience.
