Now that Verizon Wireless’ proposal to acquire Tracfone and the brands under it have been approved, changes have gradually been made.
First, there’s the plan changes made to Straight Talk Wireless, which improved the data allotment on the $60/month plan. Previously, this plan only came with 25GB of data. But now, it comes with unlimited data. After that, Total Wireless followed the same changes made to Straight Talk.
And now, we’re seeing a big change on Tracfone’s website.
The carrier has added a new section to its FAQs on its website with the title “Verizon Acquisition.” In a nutshell, these is what the FAQ shared:
No “immediate” changes
A “carefully managed transition” of non-Verizon network customers to the Verizon network
Customers will be able to keep their current plans for a “significant period of time going forward”
If you are a Tracfone customer, these answers may give you some reassurance about your plan.
