Just before the weekend, Straight Talk Wireless unveiled some new changes to its plan offerings. This was the first plan changes made ever since Verizon Wireless received the green light to acquire TracFone and its brands. Now, another TracFone brand is getting revamped.
As reported by BestMVNO, the new carrier to get a new change is Total Wireless. There are a total of three new changes made to the prepaid brand-- the first is the addition of an unlimited high-speed plan. The other change is by making the double data offer permanent. Total Wireless has also added unlimited international calling to Canada and Mexico on at least one plan.
Let’s look into these changes in more detail:
Total Wireless has given its $50/month plan an update. Previously, the plan only included 25GB of high-speed data before it throttled to 2G data speeds. But now, the plan comes with unlimited high-speed data. This is a similar change that was made to Straight Talk’s $45/month plan.
This plan has also been updated to include unlimited calling to Canada and Mexico. Right now, this is the only plan that comes with this feature. It’s still unknown whether it will be extended to other plans.
The last change that Total Wireless revealed today is that they are now offering permanent double data on its $35/month plan. Previously, the plan only included 5GB of high-speed data. But with the double data offer, customers who signed up for the plan got upgraded to 10GB of high-speed data per month.
The good news is, double data is now a permanent offering at Total Wireless. And that’s not all, customers who picked up the plan at Walmart still get to enjoy an extra 1GB of monthly bonus data with the plan. This means that you get to enjoy 11GB of high-speed data per month instead of the original 5GB per month.
