Before the smartphone industry was taken over by the likes of the iPhone and other Android touchscreen devices, the leader, without a doubt, is the iconic BlackBerry device. There was really no comparison to the feeling of being able to push buttons on a mobile device as you typed your text or email.
Thankfully, Unihertz is on a mission to recreate a similar device that will bring back the classic keyboard look. And earlier today, they have revealed their newest Kickstarter project called the Titan Pocket.
The Titan Pocket comes as a rugged device with a full QWERTY keypad. Despite its appearance, it has a lightweight body. There is a customizable physical keyboard that you can change with functions like camera, clock, flashlight, and one-click access.
The device comes with a 3.1-inch touchscreen display with a 716x720 pixel resolution. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P70 chipset with 6GB of RAM and 128GB onboard storage. There is a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing sensor. The device also comes with a 4,000mAh battery and 4G LTE compatibility. It will run on Android 11 OS upon release.
Right now, the project has reached over $480,000 pledges with more coming in each day. This number exceeds their initial $50,000 goal in just a few minutes since it made its official debut today. And with a 30-day crowdfunding window, it’s exciting to see just how much the Titan Pocket will reach in funding.
