US Mobile has listened to its subscribers and is giving them more security features.
In a post released today, the wireless carrier revealed that they are one of the first hybrid network operators in the country to offer Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to its subscribers. Additionally, the carrier is dedicating 2022 to build “the most secure carrier.”
With today’s announcement, existing subscribers will soon see a landing page that highlights their account security. When you log in to US Mobile’s platform, you will be asked to complete four parts: Account Verification, enable 2FA, enable Security Questions, and Secure Password Update.
In detail, these steps are:
Account Verification - You will need to register your email address so important updates regarding your account privacy and service can be relayed to you.
2FA - Set up 2FA to protect your account.
Security Questions - US Mobile has released this to be a supplemental method in verifying your identity when you speak with their Product Support team.
Secure Password Update - US Mobile encourages you to change your password at least once a year.
US Mobile is also launching advanced security services to keep users’ accounts safe when you use their platform. These include account notifications and account authorization. You can enable further security features as the ones below:
Never SIM Swap - All SIM swaps are restricted. If a SIM swap request is made, Product Support will require more extensive verification.
No Port Out - All Port Out requests are restricted. If a request is made, Product Support will require more extensive verification.
Account Lockdown - You can also request for your account to be locked down so that any change requested will need extensive identity verification before being approved
Leverage Machine Learning - US Mobile has added a layer to further improve its ability to authenticate requests against both global network traffic and previous interactions made on their platform.
