Verizon Wireless has expanded its 5G network in new cities. This includes their Ultra Wideband and 5G Home Internet coverage.
Here is Verizon’s schedule for its 5G development this month:
5G UWB launches four cities on April 22nd:
Fresno, CA
New Orleans, LA
Riverside, CA
San Antonio, TX
This brings the total number of mobility cities to 71.
On the same day, Verizon will be launching its 5G Home Internet service in Riverside CA. This will also be available in Memphis and San Antonio on May 6th. This brings up the total number of cities with 5G Home Internet coverage to 33.
By adding these new cities, Verizon is inching closer to its promise of delivering more than 14,000 new cell sites this year alone.
“These new cities are part of Verizon’s promise to deliver over 14,000 new cell sites this year alone, further underlining its commitment to expanding its 5G network on mmWave spectrum while preparing for the launch of 5G service on its recently acquired C-band spectrum, which will cover an additional 100 million mobility customers in the first quarter of 2022. Meanwhile, Verizon’s other fixed wireless access products will reach 15 million homes by the end of 2021.
Furthering its expansion efforts, Verizon also recently announced it is continuing to increase 5G Ultra Wideband coverage through the use of signal repeaters, leading to more 5G Ultra Wideband coverage for 5G mobility and 5G Home Internet customers.”
Starting April 29th, Verizon will be offering $500 to cover early termination fees to interested customers who leave their current internet provider and make the switch.
Verizon will also be giving away a free Samsung Chromebook 4 to new 5G Home customers. Big Red is also offering up to 1Gbps download and 300Mbps upload speeds to the $50/month Verizon customers (or $70/month without a phone plan).
