Verizon has just unveiled its newest device-- a 5G hotspot device called the Inseego 5G MiFi M1000. The device, priced at $649.99, is one evidence that 5G is not going to be cheap. This price does not yet include monthly data costs.
Thankfully, Verizon is offering a few options to make the price more manageable. One option is by going with a 24-month installment plan that brings down the price of the device to $27.08 per month. The other option is to go with a two-year service contract, which brings down the price of the device to just $499.99.
Once you decide to purchase this device, you can add Verizon’s 5G data plan, which starts at $90 per month. This plan comes with 50GB of 5G data per month before it gets throttled to 3Mbps. The plan also comes with 15GB of LTE data.
An important thing to note about Verizon’s 5G connectivity is that it currently only offers downloads at 5G data speeds. Uploads will still be done over LTE connection. The good news is that this won’t count towards the 15GB data cap on the plan.
With the new 5G hotspot device newly announced, Verizon is already offering a total of five 5G devices under its roster: the LG V50 ThinQ, Moto Z3 and Z4, and the Galaxy S10 5G. Coincidentally, Verizon recently added St. Paul, Minnesota as the fifth city to get 5G service. The other cities where you can enjoy these speeds on include Chicago, Denver, Minneapolis, and Providence. Verizon still has a list of 25 other cities to launch its 5G service before the year ends,
