The brand new year has afforded the world’s biggest seller of smartphone devices a chance at redemption after a somewhat epic failure in the last few months, and Samsung is making the most of the opportunity. Just recently, the South Korean tech giant officially unveiled three new handsets -- the Galaxy A7, the Galaxy A5, and the Galaxy A3.
All of the latest additions to the Galaxy A lineup of smartphones come with a metal unibody and 3D glass rear cover, and these features are paired nicely with stylish camera specifications and a sleek home key. Samsung is offering these new devices in four color options -- namely, Gold Sand, Black Sky, Blue Mist, and Peach Cloud.
Samsung is also eager to flaunt the fact that the new Galaxy A handsets offer improved 16 megapixel cameras on both rear and front sides, with enhanced auto focus capabilities even in conditions with minimum lighting. And for the first time in the company’s Galaxy A lineup, IP68 water and dust proofing abilities are included.
In terms of memory, the latest Galaxy A smartphones also offer more generous storage, plus support for up to 256 gigabytes of expandable memory. Moreover, the new devices also feature reversible USB Type-C port for convenient connectivity. Also worth mentioning is the fact that the handsets also are equipped with the Always on Display feature, which allows users to check the time and calendar on their phone without waking their device up.
Now on the individual specs. The Galaxy A7 phablet has a 5.7 inch FHD Super AMOLED display screen, and boasts a 1.9 GigaHertz eight core chip set, aided with 3 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM) and 32 gigabytes of built in memory. It features a 3,600 mAh battery and is powered by Google’s Android 6.0.16 Marshmallow mobile operating system. As for the Galaxy A5, it possesses a 5.2 inch display screen and packs a 1.9 GigaHertz octa core processor, supported by 3 gigabytes of RAM and 32 gigabytes of onboard storage. It also has a 3,000 mAh battery and like the Galaxy A7, runs on Android 6 Marshmallow. The smallest of the trio is the Galaxy A3, which comes in at 4.7 inches, and is fitted with a 13 megapixel camera on the rear side as well as an 8 megapixel selfie shooter on the front side. Inside its frame, it offers a 1.6 GigaHertz octa core chip set, with a couple of gigabytes of RAM and 16 gigabytes of memory. It also features a 2,350 mAh battery and is powered by Android Marshmallow.
