T‑Mobile’s T‑Life App Finally Lets You Swap SIMs Yourself

T-Mobile users can now breathe a sigh of relief—after nearly two and a half years, the T Life app finally restores the ability to change SIM cards without needing to call support. 

According to The Mobile Report, the feature quietly rolled out on June 9, 2025  Previously, T-Mobile had disabled SIM swap access from the app back in November 2022 due to security worries. Instead, customers had to reach out to support for even simple SIM swaps. But the latest T Life update brings self-service SIM changes—including both physical SIM and eSIM options—back into your hands.

What’s Included in the Update

• Self-Service SIM Swaps: Tap "Manage" in the app, select your line, then choose “SIM transfer or activation.” Enter the device’s IMEI, select between a physical SIM or eSIM, and add the ICCID/EID. The app guides you every step of the way.
• Business Account Support: T-Mobile is expanding access: small business customers can now manage their accounts directly via the app—no more switching to a browser or website. This handy fix comes after business users say they felt left out.
• App Tab Renaming & Accessories Store: The “VIP Status” tab, home to T‑Mobile Tuesday perks, is now simply “Benefits.” Plus, you can browse and purchase accessories—like cases and chargers—right in the app, without being redirected to a website.
