Amazon continues to aggressively expand the lineup of smartphones in Prime Exclusive by adding a couple of new Motorola handsets -- the Moto G6 Play (link here) and the Moto Z3 Play (link here). Both of these Moto devices are enabled with Amazon’s own Alexa digital assistant, and because they are sold as unlocked units, they can work on any one of the networks of the Big Four carriers in the United States (namely Verizon Wireless, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint).
Having an Alexa enabled handset is kinda cool -- users can just call the assistant on the Moto G6 Play and on the Moto Z3 Play by double pressing the power button (after unlocking the devices), or by long pressing the home button (that is, if Alexa is set as the default assistant as opposed to Google Assistant). Moreover, for a limited time users can also get a Moto Smart speaker, free of charge, with a Moto Z3 Play, which means that they can get Alexa’s assistance just by issuing verbal commands.
Some may remember that back in April earlier this year, Motorola had officially unveiled half a dozen new smartphone offerings. One of these handsets is the Moto G6 Play, which is basically the more budget friendly version of the Moto G6 (which had joined the Amazon Prime Exclusive lineup last month).
While it is true that the Moto G6 Play does not have a chip as mighty as the Moto G6’s (nor its dual camera set up), the Moto G6 Play offsets that by featuring a price that is fifty bucks cheaper than its sibling. And now that the smartphone is on Amazon Prime Exclusive, its pricing gets to go down even lower -- indeed, whereas the regular Moto G6 Play fetches for $199, Amazon Prime Exclusive offers the same model for just $190.
As for those who want another Moto handset with better specifications, they might want to check out the Moto Z3 Play. Motorola had formally announced this phablet more than a couple of weeks ago. It packs a 6 inch Full HD+ Super active matrix organic light emitting diode (AMOLED) display screen, complemented with a dual camera configuration consisting of a 12 megapixel camera and a 5 megapixel camera on the rear side, as well as an 8 megapixel selfie shooter on the front side. As sold through Amazon Prime Exclusive, the Moto Z3 Play is now priced at $50 less than the regular edition.
