Attention, owners of Android powered mobile devices, here is some epic news that is to die for -- Fortnite will be arriving on the most popular mobile platform in the face of the planet some time in the summer season of this year. After landing on Apple’s devices more than a month ago, the game has since topped the iOS charts in the last few weeks. Pretty soon, it just might do the same on Android’s gaming charts as well.
The Fortnite game was developed and released by Epic Games, and the company actually included the Android release announcement within a much longer blog post (if you want to read the whole thing, go ahead and click this link). Perhaps teasingly, the games developer further added that it will be sharing new information soon -- of course, on the condition that such new information is there to be shared.
Apart from the recent news of its upcoming launch on Android smartphones and tablet devices, the Fortnite game also had hit several headlines this week. For instance, Epic Games has recently revealed that it will be holding a Battle Royale contest that promises a big in-game monetary prize.
On top of that, the company also announced that it is planning to integrate a voice chat functionality, as well as enhanced gameplay and better controls to the mobile aspects of the Fortnite game. For good measure, stats will also be incorporated to mobile, too, plus a minimized install size.
Epic Games might have felt the need to continuously introduce improvements upon Fortnite, but let it be said that the game is already pretty awesome in its current form, as evidenced by the horde of players that have already picked it up. In terms of generating revenues, Epic should be enjoying the fact that Fortnite is really slaying it in monthly earnings -- reportedly registering a staggering $126 million every month, and this is before it had made its debut on iPhones and iPads about a month ago.
Speaking of Apple devices, for those iOS mobile users who have yet to experience Fortnite, they should probably be starting now (that is, if they are okay with Battle Royale types of games). As reference, here are the iPhone and iPad models that have full support for the game:
