Even on the eve of HTC's scheduled event in New York City, the leaks continue to pour in, especially with regards to the HTC One M8 for Windows smartphone.
The Taiwan-based company was supposed to debut the One M8 for Windows phone during their upcoming event in the Big Apple on August 19, but it appears that HTC enthusiasts may be getting an advance notice as to when and where they'll be able to get their hands on the device.
As reported by WPCentral, a photograph of an in-store signage promoting the HTC One M8 for Windows has leaked out. The image was reportedly taken at a Verizon Wireless store located in the state of Virginia, where the signage is supposed to go up on August 19, a date simultaneous with HTC's event and the phone's debut in New York City. The signage clearly shows the HTC phone's front and rear side, as well as a blurb that states that the One M8 will be available in Android or Windows.

The One M8 is HTC's follow-up to their original HTC One smartphone, which enjoyed a successful release last year in 2013. When the new generation One M8, also known as the new HTC One, was introduced earlier this year, the phone was capable of carrying only one type of operating system -- Android (specifically, the Android 4.4). But with the soon-to-be-released One M8 for Windows, buyers will get a chance to own one that runs on Windows Phone 8.1.
Except for its operating system, the One M8 for Windows phone essentially shares all the features of its Android counterpart. Users will get a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 super LCD3 display. Snap-happy buyers will be delighted to know of its UltraPixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras. For the tech geeks, they can expect the One M8 for Windows to feature a 2.3 GigaHertz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 32 gigabytes of storage (plus a microSD slot for cards up to 128 gigabytes), and 2 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM). Other features include a 2600 mAh battery, DotView case support, and BoomSound front-facing speakers.
HTC has certainly taken its time in introducing a new Windows-run mobile device. As a matter of fact, the last time the company released a Windows Phone 8 smartphone was more than a year ago, when they released the HTC 8XT (offered through Sprint) in July of 2013.
As for the carrier Verizon, it's even longer. Apart from the One M8 for Windows handset, the last Windows-run devices they offered were the HTC Windows Phone 8X and the Nokia Lumia 822. This was way back in November of 2012. The introduction of the new One M8 device should give Verizon users more than one option in choosing which Windows-driven smartphone to use.
