Here is good news for those hunting for budget-friendly mobile devices. MetroPCS, the prepaid wireless service provider owned by T-Mobile, is offering three brand new entry-level smartphones for a very affordable price of only $29 per piece. These devices are the LG Optimus L70, the Alcatel ONE TOUCH Fierce 2, and the Kyocera Hydro LIFE.
Previously, all three smartphones were available on MetroPCS plans for $99 each. Any customer who signs up for the prepaid brand's $50 and $60 monthly plans can have access to the any of the three devices.
However, there is one caveat. The LG Optimus L70, the Alcatel ONE TOUCH Fierce 2, and the Kyocera Hydro LIFE will not be available under MetroPCS's popular limited-time only $50 unlimited data plan offer. Which is a shame because in this particular plan, customers get to enjoy unlimited voice, text messaging, and 4G LTE data for a monthly fee of $50.
Of course, customers still have the option of getting unlimited calls, unlimited text messaging, and unlimited high-speed data for $60 every month with any of the three devices mentioned above, as well as unlimited calls, text messaging, and 3 gigabytes of data for $50 each month.
As far as specifications go, the three brand new entry-level smartphones being offered by MetroPCS come with all the regular features you can expect from a budget handset. They are not mind-blowing, to say the least, but they are not completely useless junks either.
The LG Optimus L70, for instance, has a 4.5-inch display screen with a 5-megapixel camera on the rear side. It is equipped with a 1.2 GigaHertz processor and a 2,040 mAh battery, and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat.
As for the Alcatel ONE TOUCH Fierce 2, it has a slightly bigger display screen that measures 5 inches and a 5-megapixel camera on the rear side. Similar to the LG phone, this Alcatel device sports a 1.2 GigaHertz processor and is powered by Android 4.4 KitKat. It also has a 2,000 mAh battery.
The third option, the Kyocera Hydro LIFE, offers the same 1.2 GigaHertz chip set, 5-megapixel camera on the rear side, and a 2,000 mAh battery. Although it only runs on the Android 4.3 JellyBean mobile operating system, it does have waterproof and shockproof capabilities.
True, these devices are far from being flagship offerings. But for people who are looking for inexpensive handsets, they are not all that bad. For more information about MetroPCS deals, you can start comparing phones and plans from the prepaid carrier now.
