There is no doubt about it -- some Android fans will already be itching to get their hands on Samsung’s newest flagship devices, the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9 Plus phablets. Well, they will not have to wait for long -- the handsets will be made available for preordering starting on March 2nd, and exactly two weeks later on March 16th, the South Korean tech giant’s newest toys will hit store shelves everywhere. As to the question of where to buy the devices, scroll down for the answer.
Samsung
Directly from Samsung, the Galaxy S9 can be had for a starting price of $720, or $30 per month for a period of a couple of years. Its bigger sibling, the Galaxy S9 Plus, is offered at a starting price of $840m, or $35 per month for two years. Oh, buyers can also enjoy trade in rebates of up to $350.
Note that the Galaxy S9’s $720 starting price is lower than that of the Galaxy S8, which was sold for $750 last year upon its debut. The Galaxy S9 Plus’ $840 is also ten bucks lower than the Galaxy S8 Plus’ $850.
Verizon Wireless
For those who want to buy the new Galaxy models from Verizon Wireless, they better be ready for the Galaxy S9’s rather high $800 starting price, or $33.33 monthly for a period of 24 months. The Galaxy S9 Plus accordingly is offered at a starting price of $930, or $38.74 a month for 24 months. There are also trade in rebates of up to $350.
As of this writing, the Big Red offers the highest pricing for the Galaxy S9 devices, perhaps rivalled only by …
AT&T
At AT&T, the Galaxy S9’s starting price is at $790 (or $26.34 per month for 30 months), while the Galaxy S9 Plus’ is at $915 (or $30.50 per month for 30 months). Note that the monthly payments are spread out over a period of 30 months (and not the usual two years).
T-Mobile
T-Mobile’s pricing is similar to Samsung’s, with the Galaxy S9 offered at a starting price of $720, or $30 monthly for 24 months, while the Galaxy S9 Plus sold for $840, or $30 monthly for 24 months (with $120 down). Moreover, interested parties can avail of trade in rebates (spread out as bill credits every month) of up to 50 percent off the Galaxy S9, or up to $360 off on the Galaxy S9 Plus. The Uncarrier, however, has not clarified yet which devices are qualified for the rebate.
Sprint
With Sprint, prospective buyers will have to deal with the Galaxy S9’s starting price of $792, but that equates to leasing the device for $33 each month for a year and half’s time. The Galaxy S9 Plus, meanwhile, is at $912, but equivalent to leasing it for $38 per month for a period of 18 months. Plus, customers get trade in rebates of up to $350.
Xfinity Mobile
Xfinity Mobile offers the Galaxy S9 at $720 (or $30 monthly for two years) and the Galaxy S9 Plus at $840 (or $35 monthly for two years). Trade in rebates are at $200, plus another $250 (in the form of a Visa prepaid card) when signing up for a new line of service.
