With regards to this latest news, an Apple spokesperson has released a full statement concerning the changes in the shipping time tables of the company's first ever wearable device: "We're happy to be updating many customers today with the news that their Apple Watch will arrive sooner than expected. Our team is working to fill orders as quickly as possible based on the available supply and the order in which they were received. We know many customers are still facing long lead times and we appreciate their patience."
When the Apple Watch was first made available for preordering, availability windows for the wearable device closed rapidly. As a matter of fact, within a matter of minutes of orders opening, estimated shipping times are dropping on most models of Apple's smartwatch.
Still, ordering the Apple Watch online appears to be the best way to acquire the highly anticipated wearable device, that is for those who are looking to buy the Apple Watch and have yet to place their orders. This is because there may not be enough Apple Watches available in stores for walk in customers buying the device right there and then.
In-store availability issues aside, the news that some Apple Watch orders are shipping earlier than expected should be delightful news, especially for those who can not wait to get their hands (or their wrists) on the wearable device. On top of that, the news may be taken as a sign for many an Apple fan that they can look forward to more positive news regarding the availability of the Apple Watch. The Apple Watch is offered in three basic models: the entry level Apple Watch Sport, the midrange Apple Watch, and the luxury Apple Watch Edition. Preorders for the Apple Watch opened last April 10th, and the wearable device is scheduled to hit stores worldwide on April 24th. Apple is encouraging buyers to order the device online, and even allowing prospective customers to try on the smartwatch at Apple Stores but only by appointment and for a maximum of 15 minutes (one hour for the luxury Apple Watch Edition).
