Just in time for the launch of HTC's One A9 device in the United States market, Sprint is offering a special limited time only offer for mobile users who are interested in purchasing the Android smartphone, especially via Sprint Lease. Here is how it works -- those who decide to buy the HTC One A9 device on a 24 month lease at $20 a month, their payments for the first couple of months will be waived by Sprint. As for the two $20 device payments, they will be refunded to the customer’s account by way of service credit after they activate the HTC smartphone on a Sprint Lease plan.
It should be noted that the $20 a month payment price is made available to subscribers who are opting to sign up for the lease plan from now until January 7th of next year. Payments are made over the course of a couple of years, and beyond that period, the customer can either return the handset and upgrade to a different device, keep on leasing month to month, hand back the smartphone and terminate their plan, or pay the Purchase Option Price and get to own the device.
Since this deal is offered on Sprint Lease, which is a leasing program, the One A9 handset will not be technically the customer’s to keep when the payment contract ends. Because of this, customers will have to pay an optional additional charge in order to get to really own their handset. As for those who prefer to cancel their lease early, they will be required to complete the remaining lease payments before they can get out, plus the Purchase Option Price, that is if they want to keep their handset.
There will be some who prefer not to lease, and they can still preorder the One A9 from Sprint via a standard 24 month installment plan at $0 down and $29.99 a month ($719.75 over a couple of years). They can also purchase the handset via a two year agreement for $199.00, or pay the full price upfront of $696 to own the device right there and then.
Those who want to get the One A9 on an unlimited LTE data plan may do well to take advantage of Sprint’s Unlimited Single Line for $70 a month, which already includes unlimited voice calls, unlimited text messaging, and unlimited data, plus the option of the wireless carrier’s Open World international perks absolutely for free.
