Oh, oh! It looks like those sale-hunters and deal-seekers that are looking for bargains are in for a surprise once they know what T-Mobile's plan is for the future.
A few weeks ago, Verizon introduced a high-tier plan for heavy data users, that takes the game to a whole new level, while Sprint and AT&T relaunched the same data offers with a higher price tag. In other words, you are paying more for the same service, although they are providing you with new features like video or hotspot capabilities.
T-Mobile isn't playing that game. "We're not pursuing a monetization path," Chief Financial Officer, Braxton Carter said in an interview after the company released its second-quarter results.
The technique remains focused to make a massive move by the carriers to break out the unlimited data plans and charge more, an investment that has taken years of competitive promotions that included free phones, bringing down rates, and other toss-ins. T-Mobile, which came out on top in phone postpaid development for the eighteenth sequential quarter, can stand to keep costs unfaltering.
"The benefits of creating more subscribers outweighs the shorter term benefit of tweaking (average revenue per user)," Braxton said.
"Absolutely, you can expect a great proposition for our customers relating to the new iPhone." - Braxton added.
T-Mobile’s Chief Operating Officer, Mike Sievert, indicated - that it would be too competitive in promotional deals for cell phones that help its recently obtained 600 megahertz spectrum. The upcoming iPhone sales are expected to help the acquisition, which gives T-Mobile a better scope over more extensive zones. However, the provider declined to discuss further details for Apple products. An Apple representative was also not available to remark on the likelihood of including the 600 MHz band.
