Dish Network reports Q2 2022 earnings

Dish Network recently revealed its Q2 2022 earnings report and it’s not looking too good for its wireless subscribers. In this quarter alone, Dish lost 210,000 retail wireless net subscribers. As a whole, the cable company has lost 1.1 million customers in its wireless business since they purchased Boost Mobile from T-Mobile in August 2020. 

Despite losing customers, the 210,000 net subscribers it lost can still be considered an improvement compared to the 343,000 customers it lost in the first quarter. Not to mention, it also lost 245,000 wireless retail subscribers in Q4 2021. 

Apart from its net subscriber loss, Dish reported a 4.39% wireless churn rate for the quarter. Again, this is an improvement from Q1 2022’s 4.64% and Q4 2021’s 4.95% churn rate. They also had an overall revenue of $4.21 billion and net income of $523 million for the quarter.

The company is doing its best to stop the losses. One way they are doing this is by launching a $25/month unlimited plan. If you wish to have a plan that stays this rate “forever,” you will need to sign up for autopay.
