Good news to all Android users! Google has just patched a critical vulnerability that it discovered in its Android 12 OS version.
This was recently announced by the tech giant in its February 2022 Android Security Bulletin. The latest version was apparently exposing unknowingly users to a zero-click exploit that has been around ever since it was released. With today’s announcement, this vulnerability has been closed.
As shared by Phone Arena, zero-click exploits are “among the most dangerous of all.” This is because they do not need their victims to do a certain action so an attacker can have control over their device. To show just how critical this vulnerability is, Google referred to it as “a critical security vulnerability in the System component that could lead to remote escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed.”
Even though the vulnerability has been taken care of, Google did not go into specific detail. The present update is still in the process of rolling out.
