If you’re using Google Keep regularly to take down notes, you may have witnessed a weird bug that may interfere with how you use the app. As shared by PhoneArena, there are complaints about the app on the Community support page that dates back to November 2021.
According to the complaints, the bug is interfering with how easy the app is to use– something that it is best known for.
“I have an auto-numbered list on my Android mobile (Samsung S21+) and when I try to add items or navigate through my list, it adds more numbers to the items above. I’ve done this with much longer lists, with no problems, but now it’s happening on any new list I originate. See screen shot. Any ideas? On my PC, the synced note works fine. I can see the multiple numbers, but it works normally on the PC. Thank you.”
The bug repeats numbers in lists. Meanwhile with a bullet list, the cursor tends to jump around while typing. Based on reports, the bug is only experienced on Samsung devices that are already running Android 12. Some of those who reported a similar problem are using Galaxy S21, Galaxy S20, and Galaxy Note 20.
Google has confirmed that the issue exists and are already looking into the problem.
Google Keep is among the top note-taking apps on Android. Ever since it launched in 2013, it has amassed over 1 billion installs.
