Continuing its string of user-reported issues, the Google Pixel 6 is at it again. Only a few days ago, there were reports that the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro phones were rejecting generic cables and chargers. But then again, this is something that Google already warned its customers about when they purchased their device. This time, however, the issue seems to be an Android 12 problem.
Earlier today, Pixel 6 users turned to Reddit and Google Help forums to record their signal and connectivity issues. The problem is not just affecting users in the US, which means this isn’t a network issue. Other users who reported the issue are based in Australia, Canada, and Scotland.
In the reports, some users talked about experiencing a weak signal. Others, however, complained about completely losing access to their network.
Many can’t help but think this is a problem with Android 12, especially since the same issue was experienced by older Pixel phone users after they upgraded to the new OS. Some users also pointed to Adaptive Connectivity feature as the culprit behind the problem since it automatically switches between 5G and 4G to prolong the device’s battery.
For some users, the issue was resolved after they updated their Carrier Services. There are others who also recommend rebooting their device to fix the problem. Some also suggested doing a factory reset and getting a new SIM card. One of the users who experienced the error returned his Pixel 6 Pro. The replacement device, however, did not really perform any better.
The issue seems to be fairly new though since Google has not yet commented on it. We’ll have to keep an eye on when Google confirms the problem and fixes it.
