A number of Android manufacturers have started to promise providing longer-term support to their customers. OnePlus is the latest brand to join in on this promise.
The Oppo-owned brand recently revealed that they will be providing select phones with four years of OxygenOS major updates. Users will also have five years of security patches delivered to their devices.
Right now, the company has not revealed the full details and which devices will be receiving the updates. But they mentioned that it will be on devices they will be launching in 2023 and later.
Oppo also highlighted some features that will be coming to OxygenOS 13.1 in 2023. Some of these include a revised always-on display with Spotify support, Dolby Atmos-based spatial audio, AI-guided memory management, a new Aquamorphic design language, and a second-gen private data space.
