Samsung is working on a self-repair program for Galaxy users.
The smartphone manufacturer announced today that it has partnered with iFixit to provide repair parts for these select Galaxy models:
Galaxy S20
Galaxy S21
Galaxy Tab S7+
If you use the self-repair program, you will be provided step-by-step instructions on how you can fix your device. Some of the things you can do with the repair program include replace the display, charging ports, and back glass. Samsung will provide you used parts that have been returned to them for recycling.
In its announcement, Samsung’s SVP of customer care, Ramon Gregory said that they are “creating more ways for consumers to extend the lifespan of [its] products with premium care experiences.”
Samsung plans to launch this self-repair program in the summer. While the devices are limited at this time, the company plans to support other devices over time.
