Google released its latest Pixel Drop update for Pixel smartphones earlier this week. This latest update for March was released to fix a number of issues. Unfortunately, those who updated their device to the latest version have reported issues with their devices, namely the device’s vibration and screen brightness.
Device users turned to Reddit to express their frustrations. These users believed that the haptics on their devices have felt stronger since updating to the latest version. Most of the comments on the Reddit thread shared that they didn’t like how the new vibration felt and that it felt “looser” and “a bit cheap.”
These comments seem to be coming from users who are using one of the devices under the Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 series.
Google has responded to the concerns on Reddit and promised that they are looking into reports about haptic intensity. You can adjust your device’s vibration by going to Settings > Sound & vibration > Vibration & haptics. This might be the best solution for now until Google fixes the issue.
Meanwhile, Google has not yet responded to the problem related to the screen brightness. The users on Reddit shared that they encountered a problem when watching media in fullscreen mode on apps like Netflix, YouTube, and Disney+. The affected users share that their screen dims in intervals without a consistent length. While some have experienced it every two seconds, some do after several minutes.
Aside from the screen brightness, some users have reported experiencing problems with their wallpapers. Even if their brightness is already up to 100%, their background still appears dimmed and too dark.
We’ll have to wait for further update from Google if the problem has already been taken care of.
