Good news to all smartphone users in the country. It looks like the major carriers have improved their call and data performance in the first half of the year.
The report comes from the latest JD Power US wireless network quality study. According to the report, Verizon had the least number of complaints. But needless to say, the other major networks did not fall too far behind. In north central US, US Cellular was tied with Verizon in the first place. AT&T and T-Mobile was consistent in battling each other out for second place. As for Sprint, the study revealed some improvement for the company even though it was consistently trailing behind the other networks.
Because of the results of the study, it is easy to assume that the improvement could be attributed to the 5G network that carriers expanded on or rushed to launch this year. This means that in order to meet the extra demands of 5G network, the carriers had to upgrade their infrastructure. In the process, they were able to improve the quality of service on calls and download speeds.
Despite the good news, it still doesn’t mean that these carriers are completely off the hook. There are still some frustrated customers and areas that they need to work on. The important thing is that the improvements show a positive sign for the future of the wireless network industry.
