Back in 2020, T-Mobile acquired Sprint along with its assets, including its 33% stake in Tidal, a streaming music service. Shortly after this, Jay-Z purchased this stake from T-Mobile. The two, however, continued to work together and T-Mobile continued to offer this service as a perk for its customers.
Unfortunately, this free perk won’t be available for too long. As The Mobile Report revealed, the Un-carrier will stop offering this perk to customers. The publication was able to get their hands on an exclusive screenshot that detailed the wireless carrier’s future plans to sunset the service.
The report revealed that beginning tomorrow, August 1, Tidal will no longer be offered to customers. Meanwhile, customers who have Tidal as a perk on their plan can continue using this until Friday, September 1.
The Un-carrier promises they will be replacing this perk with a better offer. Details should be unveiled soon.
