There is an ongoing wildfire on the island of Maui, Hawaii right now. And as of this writing, there have already been 55 confirmed deaths. Amidst that, thousands of families are being evacuated. To help with the situation on the ground, the US carriers have already announced their relief measures.
Here’s how the US carriers are helping its customers in Maui:
AT&T will be waiving overage fees to prepaid and postpaid customers in the affected areas. This means that these customers can use unlimited calls, texts, and data without worrying about extra charges until August 16.
Google Fi customers are getting a $20 credit on their bill. This will be available to customers based on the billing zip code they have on file.
T-Mobile is extending unlimited talk, text, and data to customers who aren’t on an unlimited plan. Applicable zip codes have been listed with the freebie taking effect from August 10 to 14.
Verizon Wireless is also offering unlimited calls, texts, and data to its customers. This will be available to customers with a Maui billing address between the dates of August 10 to 23.
Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the wildfires.
