Verizon has a solution to address connectivity issues that are often encountered at large-scale events. The wireless carrier has rolled out a portable private network called Network in a Box, which provides a secure and reliable private network for up to 50 cellular radios per box.
As reported by Android Authority, Verizon already deployed the prototype last week at the UFL Championship game held in St. Louis, Missouri. Big Red has also shipped the prototypes to cover upcoming sports events to be held in Munich, London, and Sao Paulo.
Verizon says that its Network in a Box will provide reliable connectivity for media operations and gameplay at these venues. It won’t affect data traffic by the attendees. As a result, it offers a more secure and stable connection than Wi-Fi, which is a good solution for security communications and front-office operations.
