You might have heard by now that Apple has officially unveiled its latest iPhone models -- the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus -- alongside other new products and updates. Physical Changes And Better Specifications
As mentioned earlier, the new iPhones now come with a new Rose Gold finish, with Apple stating they it has purposely explored new aluminum alloys and glass materials in order to give its latest smartphones superior strength and durability. With regards to hardware and software specifications, the new iPhone 6s devices now come with upgraded chips (the A9 core processor, which is 70 percent faster than the one used by the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, and a brand new ), enhanced cameras (a 13 megapixel iSight camera on the rear side and a 5 megapixel camera on the front side), and iOS 9, the latest version of Apple’s OS for mobile.
Live Photos
Live Photos refer to animated GIFs that the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus can create whenever users take a photo. They are around three seconds in length, come with audio, and can be viewed by long-pressing any picture taken using the devices’ upgraded cameras. GIFs are undoubtedly very popular and very fun things to create and view, and Apple has just brought them directly to iPhone owners’ palms.
3D Touch
Every mobile user in the world is pretty much familiar with how touch screen displays work, but with the new iPhones’ 3D Touch feature, it appears that Apple is making a bid to revolutionize how we interact with our touch screen handsets. Based on Apple’s own Force Touch technology, 3D Touch expands what we can do with our display screens beyond just simple taps and swipes. Now, we can perform tasks easier, faster, and better with a long press, a hard tap, or a combination of both. Of course, this feature will take some getting used to, but when app developers and mobile users begin to explore it more, the possibilities are almost endless.
Apple’s Upgrade Program For iPhones
Apple clearly wants people to own a new iPhone every year. That is why the company is offering unlocked handsets for a monthly fee starting at $32, which will let mobile users lease the newest iPhones for the whole year between release dates. When a new iPhone becomes available, users will be required to turn in their old iPhones.
Pricing and Availability
The iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus have the exact same prices as their predecessors, starting at $199 and $299 respectively for the 16 gigabyte edition. Preorders start on September 12th, with the release date scheduled on September 25th.
