Google is apparently working on a compact Pixel smartphone.
The report comes from a Chinese leakster known as Digital Chat Station and was GSMArena. According to the leakster, Google is working on a device that it has codenamed “Nelia.”
Apart from being a compact phone, the mystery device is said to have a flat-screen with a punch-hole selfie camera cutout. It will also follow the Pixel 6 series that comes with a rear visor.
It’s possible that this device could be named the Pixel 7a. But at this point, there is no official word on what we can expect from this device.
If ever this device ends up being the Pixel 7a, it could come with a timely release after the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. These two phones are slated to be released on October 6th, along with Pixel’s first ever smartwatch, the Pixel Watch. If this is the case, the Pixel 7a could be released sometime in Q3 2023.
