A new school year is about to begin, and not only is Sprint pledging to bring connectivity to 180,000 American high school kids through the first year initiative of its 1Million Project, the major US wireless carrier is also launching a new deal via its prepaid arm, Boost Mobile. Sure enough, starting August 22nd, Boost Mobile is allowing its customers to get an additional line of service with unlimited gigabytes for an extra $25 per month.

For those not familiar with the Unlimited Gigs plan, it comes with unlimited voice calls, text messaging, and optimized streaming videos (up to 480 p plus resolution), gaming (up to 2 mbps), and music (up to 500 kbps). With regards to data allotments, it offers unlimited 4G LTE data, and 8 gigabytes of mobile hot spot.
On top of the $50 Unlimited Gigs option, Boost Mobile is also offering 3 gigabytes of 4G LTE high speed data and unlimited voice calls, text messaging and data for just $35 per month. For those who would like more high speed data, they are free to get an additional 1 gigabyte of 4G LTE data for $5 a month, or 2 gigabytes of 4G LTE data for $10 a month.
Some are already viewing this latest move from Sprint’s prepaid brand as an obvious counter to the promotional deal introduced by MetroPCS (a prepaid arm of T-Mobile) about a week ago. In MetroPCS’ promo, one gets a couple of lines of service with unlimited for $75, and a $25 add a line deal on top of that.
For those who still want to consider other options, they may want to check out an earlier special offer launched by Boost Mobile back in May earlier this year. In this offer, one gets four lines of service of Unlimited Gigs for just a hundred bucks (or 5 lines for only $125). This 4 line deal is supposed to be good until September 7th, so for those interested, they might want to go take full advantage of the ongoing promo now.
