There is no stopping the iPhone 7 rumors now. According to the latest rumors reported by Bloomberg, Apple’s upcoming flagship device will be sporting a pressure sensitive home button. In past iPhone models, iOS users had to press a physical home button in order to operate it. However in the newest iPhone device coming out soon, it will come with a non-physical home button that vibrates when the user touches it. A similar feature was actually mentioned by Japan based tech blog Makotakara last month.
Previous reports have indicated that the iPhone 7 will sport no major design changes, and this latest report from Bloomberg does suggest so. This is interesting because Apple is currently going through some challenging times especially with regards to its smartphone sales. Over the past few quarters, the tech giant has registered decreases in sales figures. In order for Apple to bounce back, various industry watchers believe that the company needs to offer a new iPhone that should get consumers excited again. But that may not happen this year. 2017 happens to be the tenth anniversary of the first ever iPhone device, and for sure, Apple will be preparing to reveal its biggest and baddest iPhone model yet next year, not later in 2016.
Still, the rumors keep on circulating. One interesting rumor is that this year’s iPhone 7 Plus offering will come with a dual camera configuration. A dual camera set up would definitely allow for higher quality images, because the dual sensors would each capture their own pictures, and then combined to form a single, sharper, and more detailed photo, even in low light conditions.
Another rumor is that the new iPhones will get rid of the usual 3.5 millimeter audio jack. Instead, a second speaker would feature, which means that for the first time in its history, the iPhone will sport stereo speakers. As opposed to making use of audio cables that connect into the standard jack, users would take advantage of wireless headphones and speakers, or ones that connect through the iPhone’s Lightning port. As for those who are not ready to let go of their existing audio accessories, adapters will probably be still available.
A recent separate report from 9to5Mac also states that the upcoming iPhone 7 will feature a new Space Black color option. If this turns out to be true, then the new iPhone would follow in the footsteps of the Space Black Apple Watch.
