This might be good news for those who currently own an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6s -- the biggest wireless carrier in America has a new limited time promotional deal that promises to give two hundred bucks for specific iPhone 6 or iPhone 6s owners who decide to port their phone numbers to the Big Red’s network. Strictly speaking, the special offer is open to all customers who possess any iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, or iPhone 6s Plus in all memory size configurations.
All interested parties need to do is take their qualified iPhone device, and then port their phone number from a competing mobile operator, and then get to receive a bonus $200 prepaid Visa card. On top of that, these customers will also get to have their activation fees (amounting to $30) waived. They can then expect their fees to refunded by way of bill credit within one or two billing cycles.
Verizon Wireless' newest promo is unique in a sense that it does not appear to require mobile users to trade in old handsets, subscribe to a new device from the Big Red, or activate specific wireless plans. What happens instead is that the customer becomes qualified for the $200 (plus a reimbursement of his start up fees) as long as he presents an eligible iPhone model and is willing to port this phone number to Verizon’s network. Moreover, the deal is made available to all new customers on both postpaid and prepaid Verizon plans, and users will not have to worry about surrendering their existing devices in order to avail of the offer.
It does appear that the number one mobile operator in the United States is trying to entice users who got their iPhones via low cost leasing options such as those provided under T-Mobile’s Jump! On Demand program or Sprint’s iPhone Forever program. Sure, these payment programs do allow customers to pay less on a monthly basis in order to purchase a brand new iPhone device, but they do not actually get to really own their handset without completing a final hefty payment (probably in the range of $150 to $200).
For lease customers, the final charge is covered by Verizon’s limited time promotional deal, which should encourage iPhone users more to defect to the industry leader’s mobile network and new unlimited data options. For those still not familiar with the Big Red’s unlimited offering, its Unlimited Plan already comes with unlimited voice calls, text messaging, and data, all at a price of $80 a month for one line of service (with the Auto Pay feature).
