T-Mobile has recently decided to include AppleCare in its device insurance plans (which normally cost $12 per month), absolutely free of charge. According to the number three wireless carrier in the United States, customers who choose to purchase a new iPhone device or an iPad tablet will now be covered under AppleCare if they also opt to sign up for the mobile operator’s Jump! or Premium Device Protection options (more on these two later).
Mobile virtual network operator ROK Mobile may have found a way to effectively marry wireless plans with life insurance. Over the past years, the MVNO (using the LTE networks of T-Mobile and Sprint) has built quite a reputation for combining the perks of a mobile plan with a music streaming service. But it was back in 2016 when the carrier started to incorporate accidental death insurance and even online medical access to its $49.99 offering.
Here is some interesting bit of news for customers of Verizon Wireless who do not have mobile phone insurance yet -- the biggest mobile operator in America has announced an open enrollment period for all of its existing subscribers to its Total Mobile Protection plans, which have now been updated to include same day repair for damaged display screens.
AT&T is planning to debut a repair service for its subscribers, specifically those mobile users in possession of insured handsets that have sustained cracked display screens. The repair service will start to go live on November 15th of this year, and will be made available to subscribers under the wireless carrier’s Mobile Insurance, Mobile Protection Pack, Mobile Protection Pack for Business, and Multi-Device Protection Pack programs. It bears noting that for those with plans to avail of this service, an $89 deductible will be applied, and users who are able to file a claim during the morning may be qualified to get same day repair services.
AT&T is kicking off an open enrollment period for its Mobile Protection programs until April 30th of this year, essentially giving its subscribers another opportunity to make sure their smartphones and tablet devices are protected from accidental damage. Previously, subscribers can enrol in the wireless carrier’s mobile insurance programs within 30 days of activating a new handset. However, for some reason, certain customers often fail to take advantage of that month long window to insure their devices.
