About a week ago, Sprintannounced that it was lowering the pricing of its unlimited high speed data deal for families, plus offering its subscribers four lines of service for only $150 a month, practically offering four lines for the price of three. Many considered that move as an attack on T-Mobile’s unlimited family plans.
Now, Sprint appears to be taking on Verizon Wireless, the biggest wireless carrier in America, by introducing its new Better Choice Plans, as well as offering twice the amount of data for the same pricing. Sprint’s newest smartphone plan offering comes with unlimited voice calls, unlimited text messaging, and unlimited 2G data, with customers given their choice of high speed data every month. Sprint is even utilizing the same naming system as the Big Red, naming its plans as Small (S), Medium (M), Large (L), Extra Large (XL), and Extra Extra Large (XXL).
To summarize, here are the full Better Choice Plans from Sprint:
Small ($30 a month) -- Comes with unlimited voice calls, unlimited text messaging, and data, with 3 gigabytes of high speed data
Medium ($45 a month) -- Comes with unlimited voice calls, unlimited text messaging, and data, with 6 gigabytes of high speed data
Large ($60 a month) -- Comes with unlimited voice calls, unlimited text messaging, and data, with 12 gigabytes of high speed data
Extra Large ($80 a month) -- Comes with unlimited voice calls, unlimited text messaging, and data, with 24 gigabytes of high speed data
Extra Extra Large ($100 a month) -- Comes with unlimited voice calls, unlimited text messaging, and data, with 40 gigabytes of high speed data
The pricing listed above do not include monthly line access fees, which will cost subscribers an additional $20 a month for each handset purchased by way of Sprint Easy Pay, Sprint Lease, iPhone Forever, or at full price (or BYOD handsets). Also, note that all of Sprint’s Better Choice plans already come with the wireless carrier’s Global Roaming feature, plus unlimited international text messaging to over 180 countries around the world, and mobile hotspot use.
As for handsets on a subsidized two year agreement, subscribers can expect a $45 access fee every month for each device. Tablet devices can be added for $10 a month. Those who are purchasing a handset on any one of Sprint’s payment options, they will be required to add the monthly repayment on to their plan’s pricing.
